Course overview

Practical and theoretical course:

  • Our program is aimed at general dentists with basic experience in oral surgery, who are interested in improving their surgical skills and techniques.
  • Our program will give you the confidence and dexterity that you need to tackle difficult and complicated extractions in your everyday practice.
  • You will be supervised by experienced Maxillofacial surgeons who will guide you during surgical procedures on live patients.


Course content:

  • Course delivered in English
  • Constant supervision and mentoring by experienced specialist maxillofacial surgeons
  • Hands-on surgical extractions of at least 20 teeth in 4 days
  • Third molars extractions 
  • Combination of impacted teeth, fractured teeth and wisdom teeth 
  • Surgical and periodontal flaps 
  • Basic periodontal surgery 
  • Different types of sutures 
  • Modern surgical protocols 
  • Discussion of cases before surgeries 
  • Brief theory classes before practice 
  • Maximum of 12 candidates per course, to enable personalised mentoring

  Important information

  • It is important to register your interest in advance to enable the selection of patients, do the appropriate screening, and obtain the medical history of patients
  • The Health Ministry of Peru requires:
  • A color copy of your passport, 
  • A copy of your Dental degree, and 
  • A copy of your registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A 50% deposit is required when you register and the remaining 50% must be paid before starting the course.

Ticket information

  • From Lima to Cusco: leaving at 5:00 am, arriving at 6:20 am
  • From Cusco to Lima: leaving at 14:25 pm, arriving at 15:55 pm


CUSCO DAY 1: CUSCO IN + CITY TOUR 

  • Arrive at Cusco city, welcome and transportation to the hotel. Resting and acclimatising to the weather and altitude.
  • 14:30 pm: Qoricancha tour, temple of the Sun and main ceremonial place of the Inca Empire. Santo Domingo convent (combination of Inca and colonial architecture). 
  • Sacsayhuaman archaeological complex: here you will get the best view of Cusco city. Qenko (ceremonial and sacrificial site), Pucapucara (the red stone: military Inca site).
  • Tea Break drinking a delicious Inca tea and snack
  • TamboMachay: the Inca fountain.
  • Return to the hotel


CUSCO DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY 

  • Breakfast: 08:30 am. Sacred Valley of the Incas tour. Pisac town tour, Ccoya, Lamay and Urubamba towns.
  • Buffet lunch.
  • Ollantaytambo tour.
  • Chincheros tour.
  • Return to the hotel


CUSCO DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU (one of the 7 wonders of the world) 

  • Breakfast in the hotel (Cusco).
  • Transportation to the train station. 
  • Train to Aguas calientes, the town at the entrance of Machu Picchu.
  • Short bus trip from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.
  • 2 hours of guided tour in the impressive city of Machu Picchu.
  • Your will be able to enjoy the incomparable view and magic of Machu Picchu.
  • Bus trip back to Aguas calientes.
  • Lunch at Aguas calientes.
  • Train back to Ollantaytambo.
  • Transportation back to hotel in Cusco.


CUSCO DAY 4: BACK TO LIMA 

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Transportation to airport to take the flight back to Lima
